What it is?
The microalga Haematococcus pluvialis is the richest natural source of astaxanthinn, capable of accumulating up to 5% of its dry biomass as this carotenoid.Astaxanthin is the most abundant carotenoid pigment found in aquatic animals and the marine world.Like in sea foods such as salmon, trout, red sea bream, shrimp ,lobster, and caviar, so it has been present in the human diet for millenia.

Astaxanthin cannot be synthesized by animals and must be provided in the diet, the same as for other carotenoids such as Beta-carotene, lutein,xzeaxanthin ,and lycopene.
